There’s no gig quite like a wedding, and no two weddings are the same, so we are thrilled to draw on our years of experience to craft the soundtrack to your day that’s unique and totally you, while still keeping all your guests grinning from ear to ear!

A big part of our approach to weddings (other than having an outrageously good time!) is about being intuitive, practical and flexible, following the direction of our couples to capture their vibe and personality and at the same time having the composure to be in the moment, read the room, and work the margins to satisfy (and mediate) on-the-fly guest requests, too. It’s a delicate balance of bringing our judgement to bear on what’s going to meet the brief, whilst having an awareness of what’s happening around us, and being ready to take a left turn on a dime!

One thing that we’re really proud of at We Play Records is our passion for inclusivity, and nothing makes us happier than seeing Nan and Pop cutting a rug alongside you on your wedding day to some vinyl cuts from their hey-day! We find that it’s our talent for curating an eclectic mix of tunes covering a wide range of styles, eras and genres that bridges generational divides to bring everyone together - and that’s what it’s all about! (Not the hokey pokey as previously believed.)

We Play Records offers a customisable full service music and sound production solution for your wedding day. We can cover everything you need for just your wedding reception, or let us take charge and set the mood with incredible music for the whole day and night - from the moment guests arrive for the ceremony, onto cocktail hour(s), right through to dinner and partying later on! We totally get that the dance floor needs to be killer (and we’re all about it!), but we also love to use music for so much more than that on a wedding day - perfectly timed and purposeful song selection can create atmosphere, lift the energy, take it down a notch, break your heart or make you cry tears of joy! We wholeheartedly believe getting the music right can take a wedding day from quaint and lovely to ‘people are still talking about how much fun they had ten years later!’-level infamy!
